Dr. Garrick Alex is a third-generation dentist who combines family tradition with advanced medical and surgical training at Greenwich Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates. A Long Island native, Dr. Alex earned both his MD from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and his DDS from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine before completing a rigorous six-year full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, which included a full year of general surgery training with rotations in multiple surgical specialties and five months of intensive anesthesia training. As Chief Resident during his final year, he received the prestigious Osteoscience Foundation Observership award, providing him with individual training alongside one of the world’s leading implant professionals, and his commitment to humanitarian care has taken him on cleft missions through Smile Train and Healing the Children in Colombia, as well as a dental mission trip to the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Currently serving as Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia University and Attending Surgeon at both New York Presbyterian Hospital and Greenwich Hospital, Dr. Alex maintains proficiency across all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including dental implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, maxillofacial trauma, TMJ dysfunction management, and wisdom tooth removal. He believes in a patient-centered approach where listening and communication are essential to achieving optimal outcomes, and he draws on his comprehensive dual-degree training to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a comfortable and professional setting.
