Scheduling Your Appointment

New patients should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment to complete necessary paperwork. We recommend calling ahead to verify insurance information and discuss any specific concerns you may have. Our scheduling coordinators work with you to find appointment times that accommodate your work, school, or family obligations. For complex surgical procedures, we schedule adequate time to ensure unhurried, comprehensive care. Same-day appointments are available for dental emergencies, and we prioritize urgent cases to provide timely relief when you need it most.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

We request at least 48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling to allow other patients access to appointment times. Repeated cancellations without adequate notice may result in a fee or require prepayment for future appointments. We understand emergencies occur and will work with you during unexpected circumstances. Please contact our office as soon as possible if you need to reschedule, and we’ll find a new appointment time that works for your schedule.

Late Arrival Policy

Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule to avoid disrupting other scheduled procedures. If you anticipate being late, please call our office immediately so we can determine whether we can still accommodate your appointment without compromising care quality or affecting other patients. We strive to see all patients promptly at their scheduled times and appreciate your help in maintaining our schedule for everyone’s benefit.

Appointment Confirmation And Reminders

We send appointment reminders via phone call, text message, or email based on your communication preferences to help you remember scheduled appointments. Please confirm your attendance when you receive reminder notifications. If you need to cancel or reschedule, contact our office as soon as possible so we can offer that time to patients waiting for care. Keeping your contact information current ensures you receive timely reminders and important updates about your upcoming procedures.

Surgical Preparation Guidelines

Proper preparation contributes significantly to surgical success and smooth recovery. Following pre-operative instructions carefully and understanding what to expect helps ensure optimal outcomes. Below are essential guidelines for preparing for your oral surgery procedure.

Before Your Procedure

For procedures involving IV sedation or general anesthesia, avoid eating or drinking anything for at least 8 hours beforehand. Take only medications your surgeon specifically approved. Arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you afterward. Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing with short sleeves. Remove contact lenses, jewelry, and nail polish. Fill prescribed medications before your appointment so they’re ready for post-operative use. Inform our office of any changes to your health status in the days leading up to surgery.

Day of Surgery

Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork. Bring your insurance card and photo ID. Your driver must remain in our facility during your procedure. Following surgery, you’ll spend time in our recovery area under supervision before discharge. You cannot drive or operate machinery for 24 hours after sedation. Plan to rest at home for the remainder of the day and follow all post-operative instructions provided.

Post-Operative Care Policies

We provide detailed written post-operative instructions specific to your procedure before you leave our office. Our team remains available by phone to address concerns during your recovery, and we provide after-hours emergency contact information for urgent issues. Follow-up appointments are scheduled to monitor healing progress and remove sutures when necessary. You must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you following procedures involving sedation. Prescriptions for pain medication and antibiotics are provided as needed, and we recommend filling them before your surgery date. Contact our office immediately if you experience excessive bleeding, severe pain uncontrolled by medication, signs of infection, or any other concerning symptoms during recovery.
